“a stalwart practitioner on the outer fringes" - AD HOC
“lays into the loose leather sling of ‘80s indie Americana, but never settles for the rut” - RAVEN SINGS THE BLUES
“wiry, thick-veined Americana ... blissed-out album made by these prolific, intelligent players is surely one of this year’s highlights” - PETAL MOTEL
“This’ll wake up your third eye in no time" - RECORD CRATES UNITED

Jeffrey Alexander has spent his music career directing his creative energy towards the outer fringes, first with the experimental folk sounds of both the Iditarod and Black Forest/Black Sea and then with the psychedelic meanderings of Dire Wolves. In between there have also been solo sonic forays, as well as a stint with Jackie-O Motherfucker. His latest endeavor, Jeffrey Alexander + The Heavy Lidders, continues down the same path of experimentation, improvisation, and heady soundmaking, with clear references to the hazy, glazey Crazy Horse days of Neil Young, as well as nods to the stylings of bands like the Meat Puppets and Dinosaur Jr. Jeffrey Alexander and the Heavy Lidders features a wealth of guest artists, including Kryssi Battalene (Mountain Movers, Headroom), Jeff Tobias (Sunwatchers), Marissa Nadler, Jesse Shepherd and Drew Gardner (Elkhorn), Scott Verrastro (Kohoutek), Rosali Middleman, Pat Gubler (Garcia Peoples, Wet Tuna), and Ryan Jewell.
